Sophoi led a wholesale redesign of Climate-KIC’s MEL system to align with its Transition in Time strategy, designed to demonstrate progress and climate impact in a systems-innovation context where traditional KPIs often fall short.

Sophoi then authored a two-part online learning module on Systems-Informed MEL (SI-MEL) for Climate-KIC’s Climate Leadership Academy, translating complex strategic thinking into practical, scalable training for climate leaders around the world. The work introduced ESLA Loops (Evidence, Sense-making, Learning, Action) to institutionalise collaborative sense-making — a rigorous, repeatable way for teams to process evidence together so that insights lead to informed action rather than stagnating in reports.
