Founded in 2018 to tackle the most pressing global challenges: climate change, environment and biodiversity loss, poverty, and inequality.
Robbie Gregorowski
Director
Robbie has 18 years of experience providing monitoring, evaluation, and learning services to various international organisations. He has applied his core MEL expertise across various sectors and settings. Robbie has considerable experience working across the resilience – adaptation – systems transformation spectrum – from youth employment and empowerment to climate resilience and low carbon transition.
Robbie has pioneered Sophoi’s innovative approach, Results – Sensemaking – Learning (RSL), enabling stakeholders to apply experience and insights to make sense of evidence. We place value on the sensemaking ‘process’ as much as we value the evaluation ‘product’. Read about RSL in our Alliance Magazine article – Integrating Evidence and Experience.
His broader expertise covers complex adaptive systems, systems innovation and transformation, evidence-informed change processes, and institutional capacity building. As well as leading multiple ‘headline’ evaluations, he has facilitated MEL capacity development processes in cross-cultural settings – training teams and building their capacities through the generation of trust, collaboration, and buy-in and designing M&E systems from the ground up.
Within the last three years, Robbie has worked with a broad range of organisations, including the Mastercard Foundation, the IKEA Foundation, the Laudes Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the United National Environment Programme (UNEP), among others. Between 2014-18 he was Head of MEL for the £140m DFID BRACED programme, leading a large MEL team, designing a results reporting system across 15 consortia in 12 countries, and delivering over £3m of programme evaluation activities.
