As Learning Partner to the Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE), Sophoi led a Strategic Learning Review of its climate litigation portfolio — refreshing FILE’s Global Theory of Change while designing a Results Framework able to capture the long-term, non-linear outcomes of legal interventions. The ongoing portfolio evaluation moved beyond tracking legal victories to understanding how litigation shifts the wider strategic landscape.

Sophoi pioneered an ‘Areas of Change’ framework, hosting the whole review on a ‘virtual living platform’ in Miro that integrated quantitative indicators with rubric-based collaborative sense-making. This allowed FILE to see outcomes ‘outside and beyond the courtroom’ — such as shifts in public discourse and corporate accountability — and to interpret them through a shared strategic lens.
